After SECCAP Allotment: What to Do Next, Step by Step
An Allotment Is a Beginning, Not the End
Many students celebrate when they see a college name on the portal, and then relax. That is understandable, but it is also risky. An allotment is an offer of a seat, subject to completing the admission formalities within the given time. If you miss a deadline or a document, the seat can be lost.
This guide walks you through the steps after allotment, in order.
Step 1: Confirm the Full Allotment
Read the whole allotment, not just the college name. Note the college, the group or faculty, the shift, and every instruction and deadline shown with it. Write these details down, and save or print the allotment page.
Step 2: Prepare Your Original Documents
Gather your originals: matric result card and certificate where available, B-Form or CNIC, parent or guardian CNIC where required, domicile or PRC where applicable, recent photographs, character certificate where required, equivalence certificate if you are an O-Level student, and any quota documents where applicable. Add photocopies of each, and keep everything in one folder.
Step 3: Check the Fee and Payment Method
If a fee is required, check the official amount and the instructed payment method on the portal or in the college’s instructions. Pay only through the instructed method. Never pay an unofficial agent, and never pay on the basis of a social media post. Keep your fee receipt safe — it is your proof of payment.
Step 4: Visit the College If Verification Is Required
If physical verification is required, visit the college within the deadline, with your originals, photocopies, photographs, allotment proof, and application number. Arrive early, listen carefully to the staff, and write down any further instruction they give you. If a document is missing, ask what the correct procedure is, rather than guessing.
Step 5: Complete Admission Formalities
Complete every formality the college asks for: verification, fee payment, registration, and any other step listed in your instructions. Do not leave a step half-done because it seems minor. A single incomplete step can delay your admission.
Step 6: Keep Your Proof Safe
After admission is complete, keep your fee receipt, admission proof, allotment page, and application number together in your folder. You may need them later for ID cards, attendance records, or any correction.
Step 7: Learn About College Services
After admission, colleges may offer services such as digital student ID cards and online attendance records, where supported. Availability depends on the college and the session. Follow your college’s instructions for these services, rather than relying on general articles or social media posts.
What If Something Goes Wrong?
If a document is missing, contact the college or the official admission authority through the proper channel, and ask for the correct procedure. If you believe your allotment contains a genuine error, read the official claim instructions and use the claim window if one is announced. Do not pay anyone who promises to fix your admission.
If you miss a deadline, act immediately. Contact the relevant authority through the official channel and explain the situation honestly. A quick, honest response is always better than waiting and hoping.
A Final Checklist
College confirmed, group confirmed, shift confirmed. Documents ready. Fee paid through the instructed method, receipt kept. Verification completed. Admission proof kept. Next steps from the college noted. If you can tick all of these, your admission is on solid ground.
