SECCAP Claim Form: When and How to Submit a Claim
What a Claim Is — and What It Is Not
A SECCAP claim is a formal request for review when you believe your allotment contains a genuine mistake, or when you were not allotted a college despite meeting the requirements. It is a correction process, not a shortcut.
A claim does not mean you can simply choose any college you like and receive it. The admission authority reviews claims according to the official rules, available seats, merit, and your original preferences. Understanding this difference saves students from disappointment.
When a Claim Makes Sense
A claim makes sense when there is a clear, document-supported reason. Examples include: your marks were entered incorrectly, a college or group you selected was not considered, your category or quota was not applied, or your allotment does not match the preferences you submitted.
A claim does not make sense as a general request to change your mind. If you simply prefer a different college now, but your original preferences and merit were processed correctly, a claim is unlikely to change the outcome. In that case, waiting for the next merit phase is often the better option.
Before You Submit a Claim
Gather your evidence before you open the claim form. You will need your application number, your original preferences as submitted, your allotment details, your marks as shown on your result card, and any supporting document for your reason. Write your reason in one or two clear sentences before you start typing it into the form. A vague claim — for example, “please change my college” — is much weaker than a specific, evidence-based one.
Also check the claim deadline. Claims are accepted only during the officially announced claim window. A claim submitted after the window closes will not be considered, however strong the reason.
How to Submit a Claim, Step by Step
Step 1: Wait for the Official Claim Window
Do not submit anything until the official portal announces that claims are open. Claims submitted through any other website, social media page, or agent have no standing.
Step 2: Log In on the Official Portal
Log in on seccap.dgcs.gos.pk using your application details. Open the claim or correction section, if it is available for your session.
Step 3: Read the Instructions Fully
Read the claim instructions on the portal before you type anything. The instructions explain which reasons are accepted, what evidence is needed, and how long the review takes. Skipping this step is a common cause of rejected claims.
Step 4: State Your Reason Clearly
Describe the problem in plain language, with facts. For example: “My matric marks are X as shown on my result card, but my application shows Y.” Attach or upload supporting documents if the form asks for them.
Step 5: Review and Submit Before the Deadline
Review your claim once for spelling and numbers, then submit it well before the deadline. Save the claim reference or confirmation page immediately. Keep it with your application number and allotment proof.
After You Submit a Claim
After submission, keep checking the official portal for updates. A claim does not automatically change your allotment, and it does not guarantee a new college. If your claim is accepted, the revised allotment will appear on the portal. If it is not accepted, the original allotment stands, and you should complete its formalities within the given time rather than waiting indefinitely.
Do not pay anyone who promises to “fix” your claim. No agent, social media page, or unofficial website can change a SECCAP allotment. Only the official admission authority can do that, through the official portal.
Common Claim Mistakes
The most common mistake is submitting a claim without a reason or without evidence. Another is missing the deadline. A third is submitting multiple claims for the same issue, which can cause confusion. A fourth is abandoning an existing allotment while waiting for a claim decision, and then losing both options. Keep your existing allotment safe until a revised decision is officially shown.
